This year we focus on having fun together. Oktoberfest (baw. Wiesn) — hop harvests. The tradition dates back to the beginning of the 19th century and has its roots in Bavaria, Germany. The first Oktoberfest was held in Munich in 1810 as part of the celebration of the wedding of Prince Ludwig of Bavaria (later King Louis I) to Princess Teresa von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. The main event of this holiday was the availability of beer and food for all citizens. Huge barrels of beer were opened to celebrate this momentous event. Due to the enthusiasm of the inhabitants of the city, this holiday began to be repeated in subsequent years until it became an annual tradition. Over the years, the festival has evolved and began to focus more and more on beer, which is one of the highlights of Oktoberfest.
