We invite you to an enchanting evening dedicated to one of the greatest icons of world cinema. As part of the Old Film Festival, we will meet Marilyn Monroe - her films, music, history and legend, which, despite the passing of the years, continues to fascinate subsequent generations. “Evening with Marilyn” is organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Marilyn Monroe. It will be cinematic, musical, with a touch of the magic of old Hollywood... and also with an unusual meeting with Marilyn herself!
The evening will begin with a screening of the film “How to Become Marilyn” directed by Michele Dominici. After the film, we will invite you to a mini-recital of songs from Marilyn Monroe's films - “Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend”, “I Wanna Be Loved by You”, “I'm Gonna File My Claim” or “Bye Bye Baby” - melodies that will forever go down in the history of cinema. We will move together into the world of stars, flash splendor and unforgettable Hollywood melodies. There will be an opportunity to look at Marilyn not only as a symbol of cinema and femininity, but also as an extraordinary actress and artist, whose image forever changed pop culture.
The special guest of the evening will also be Katarzyna Czajka-Kominiarczuk, author of the book “Marilyn Monroe. All the faces of the goddess” - a unique look at the legend of cinema in the centenary of her birth. On June 1, 1926, Norma Jeane Mortenson was born in Los Angeles. The world knew and loved her as Marilyn Monroe. Although Norma Jeane left too soon, Marilyn remained with us forever as an absolute goddess - a symbol of lust, cinema and femininity. Why does Marilyn Monroe's fascination not fade away? This question is answered in her book by Katarzyna Czajka-Kominiarczuk. She passionately guides readers through the world of mysteries, myths and facts that have shaped the legend of Marilyn for decades.
