In the documentary, famous composer Ennio Morricone, Andrzej Wajda, Kazimierz Kutz, Tadeusz Konwicki, Janusz Majewski, Juliusz Machulski, Jerzy Zelnik, Franciszek Pieczka and Małgorzata and Magdalena Dipont speak about him. Their memoirs collide with the archival statements of Kawalerowicz himself, correspond to fragments of his most famous films and as a result create an extremely suggestive and multifaceted portrait of the outstanding director and his time.
After the film, there will be a meeting with the director of the film — Stanisław Zawiślinski — a Polish journalist, writer, director and screenwriter, focusing on the history of Polish cinema. Zawiśniński is the author of books and biographical exhibitions dedicated to outstanding artists, including Krzysztof Kieślowski and Jerzy Hoffman. He also dedicated documentary films to the creators of Polish cinematography, such as “Drawing found after years. Wojciech Jerzy Has” and “Zanussi — important conversations”.
