Omasta follows new roads, without abandoning those already worn. Rooted in jazz but deeply immersed in hip-hop and street culture, they create a bold fusion of tradition and innovation. The name of the band comes from Cracow Gwara and means “fat added to food for taste” — it is a perfect metaphor for their music: dense, saturated with heavy drums and deep bass, on which melodic parts of piano, trumpet, saxophone and flute are built.

The band, which officially debuted in February 2024 during a tribute to J Dilla at the iconic Paul's Boutique, made an instant mark on their presence on the stage. They have performed at London Jazz Festival, OFF Festival, Gent Jazz Festival, The Jazz Cafe and Ronnie Scott's in London and AB in Brussels. They have collaborated with artists such as Madlib, Aquiles Navarro (Irreversible Entanglements), Marysia Osu, Tenderlonious and the legend of Polish free jazz Leszek Żądło.

In October 2025, Omasta released their debut album “Jazz Report from the Hood” on Astigmatic Records — a collectively composed record immersed in the atmosphere of urban streets and neighborhoods. The album was very well received by critics and was included in the recaps of the year and “best of” lists (including Somewhere Soul, Tina Edwards).

On October 16, 2026, the band released their second album, “Hits Different” (also Astigmatic Records). The new album develops a distinctive blend of jazz, hip-hop and organic groove, adding more electronics, synthesizers and spatial arrangements. The premiere is fast approaching, and the band is promoting it with more singles (including “In Your Face”, “Honda Del Sol”, “Pillow Talk”, “OG-Shock”).

At the concert you will hear both the material from the debut and the novelties from the upcoming album - heavy beat, jazz improvisation and hip-hop spirit in the best concert edition.

Composition:

Paweł Kowalik — trumpet

Antoni Blumhoff — flute, soprano saxophone

Bruno Sikorski — piano/keyboards

Wojciech Roman — bass guitar

Nikodem Wikieł — drums
