Surrounded by idiots

Workplace Comedie/Sold Out

Do you know the feeling that some people will never understand you, no matter how clearly you express yourself? Have you tried sitting at a meeting and feeling like you're the only normal human in the room? That everyone else around you is rabble-rousing nutjobs and talking completely past each other?

SURROUNDED BY IDIOTS is based on the international bestseller of the same name. In Folketeatret's theatrical version, it is a genuine workplace comedy that focuses sharply on all the difficulties we have in communicating and understanding each other. Here, the book's four personality types are brought to life in a dysfunctional human resources department with a rather low work ethic.

We meet the yellow, outgoing and impulsive colleague, the blue, analytical and cautious type, the red, dominant and purposeful person and the green, calm and patient team player. The motley cohort of colleagues comes up with a bit of a task as they are sent on a staff seminar to strengthen synergies, optimize the flow of collaboration and find out why everyone is an idiot.

Look forward to a humorous, musical and thought-provoking tale of collegiality, communication difficulties and differences, accompanied by a sea of endless comedic aha moments. Be wise to your own blind spots, — and see everyone else's in a shining bright light. SURROUNDED BY IDIOTS is based on the book of the same name written by author Thomas Erikson.

Please note that strobe lights are used in the performance.
