Guided tour: Power and fashion in the Roman Empire

Join us for a tour of the exhibition 'Power and Fashion in the Roman Empire', the largest special exhibition on antiquity in the museum's history.

The tour is free when the entrance to the museum is paid. Tour tickets cannot be pre-booked but will be picked up in the ticket sales on the day. Tickets are not issued for groups of more than five. Larger groups are referred to book a private tour.

Just like today, fashion and identity were closely linked in antiquity. Clothing, style, and appearance signaled identity, status, and power. On the tour, we take a closer look at sculptures that offer insight into how Roman men and women walked dressed, and we talk about what the sculptures reveal about identity then and fashion today.
