Parkaue 29, 10367 Berlin, Berlin

Summer 1989 in East Berlin. A country is falling apart: More and more people are fleeing to the West, protests are getting louder, some are afraid, others are fighting for change. Meanwhile, the young radio broadcasters Mina, Leo, Toni and Johanna are programming on the GDR youth station. They are required to pretend that everything is as usual. But how is that supposed to work? The atmosphere is extremely tense. Mina messes with everyone, Leo is arrested, Toni supports a resolution, only Johanna remains silent. — And then the unthinkable happens: The wall falls and new rooms open up. Finally make radio the way they've always wanted: Talk openly about topics that were previously taboo, play music they're in the mood for, and design the station themselves.

Summer 1989 in East Berlin. A country is falling apart: More and more people are fleeing to the West, protests are getting louder, some are afraid, others are fighting for change. Finally make radio the way they've always wanted: Talk openly about topics that were previously taboo, play music they're in the mood for, and design the station themselves.

Author Marion Brasch, herself a presenter at the only East German youth channel DT64 at the time, tells of real events with fictional characters. About a unique moment of freedom and about how a radio station became a way of life for young people.

Director Alexander Riemenschneider and his ensemble revive the radio studio on stage. With documentary video material and lots of music, they take you into this time of upheaval, in which it was every day: adapt or break up?
