The bazaar brings together the whole world — people, their dreams, loneliness, longing, desires and fears. From the speakers of the radio node flows a voice that envelops everyday life with a story and music. Here love hides between eggs and canned food, faith waits in a carton of “things to give away”, and time stops in an old Casio watch. “ON (BAZ) AIR” is a humorous and emotional musical monodrama by Rafał Derkacz, in which the actor plays a kaleidoscope of colorful characters — from traders and customers to ghosts of the past and dreamers escaping into space. It is accompanied by well-known songs, which in new arrangements become a chorus of emotions, commentary and the heart of the performance. The creators conduct this story with lightness and a flash of the grotesque, creating a spectacle that is a mirror reflection of contemporary Poland: full of contradictions, laughter through tears, everyday dramas and great desires. It's not just a show about the bazaar. It is a show about us — about the need for closeness, about loneliness, about the courage to dream and about the fact that each of us lives.

About the event

The bazaar brings together the whole world — people, their dreams, loneliness, longing, desires and fears. The creators conduct this story with lightness and a flash of the grotesque, creating a spectacle that is a mirror reflection of contemporary Poland: full of contradictions, laughter through tears, everyday dramas and great desires. It's not just a show about the bazaar. It is a show about us — about the need for closeness, about loneliness, about the courage to dream and about the fact that each of us is looking for our place among the stalls of life. Enter a world where everyday life turns into an epic, and ordinary commerce becomes a song about a man.

The performance will be accompanied by an exchange of things. We encourage you to bring items to give them a second life.

Fragments of the text inspired by Marta Hożewska's book “A Benevolent Place”.

The script was created as part of an artistic scholarship of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The performance was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Young Poland programme.
