“Òpi” invites you to a world where mysteries, nightmares and old beliefs interpenetrate each other, crossing the line between the real and the supernatural. The first shots of Marta Giec's full-length debut foreshadow a folk horror rooted in Kashubian beliefs with the weight of family secrets in the background.
On the eve of her 18th birthday, Trina (Wiktoria Kruszczyńska) plans to escape from her toxic mother (Gabriel Muskała). The unexpected arrival of the mysterious aunt Helena (Magdalena Boczarska) and the paralyzed grandmother Regina (Iwona Bielska) triggers events in which everyday life is increasingly intertwined with Kashubian beliefs and Trina's nightmares.
