The Christmas Tale

On the Chamber Stage of the Municipal Theater, an unusual, festive story takes place, in which the classic story of Charles Dickens takes on a new, moving form. “Christmas Story” invites you to the world of form theater, where music, stage movement and choreography intertwine with puppet etudes, creating a multidimensional spectacle for viewers of different ages.

Ebenezer Scrooge — a stingy, lonely old man — in industrial, dark London, is haunted by the Ghosts of Christmas. It is they who guide him through memories, dreams and fears. In this journey, Scrooge gradually discovers the meaning of empathy, responsibility and openness to the other person. As director Jerzy Jan Połoński emphasizes: “We invite viewers to the world of form theatre. In the lead role in the industrial gloom of London, we will see Lech Mackiewicz. The stage space will also be filled with dolls and projections.”

The show reminds us that good not only triumphs over evil, but brings true joy - shared with others. It is a universal lesson in sensitivity, solidarity and hope, especially important at Christmas. “Christmas story” is an ideal proposal for a joint, family outing to the theater and a valuable meeting for schools and organized groups. Teachers and guardians are encouraged to enrich their visit to the theatre with educational workshops, which, by appointment, can accompany the performance. The workshops are adapted to the age of the participants and thematically refer to the content of the show. This is a great opportunity to deepen the theatrical experience, creatively process it and better understand the issues raised in the performance.
