The evening entitled “Tales without words” combines three different musical worlds — romantic classics, contemporary Polish works and 20th century music full of humour and brilliance.
The concert will open one of the most beloved works of piano literature — the Piano Concerto in A minor by Edward Grieg. The work impresses with characteristic Nordic lyrics, a spectacular solo part and a rich, colorful orchestration. Full of contrasts — from virtuoso passages to moody, singing melodies — the concert remains a symbol of romantic expression and invariably moves subsequent generations of listeners.
The central point of the program will be the premiere of a new work by Katarzyna Kwiecień-Długosz — an esteemed composer from Zielona Góra.
The finale of the concert will be the ballet suite “System of Doctor Smola and Professor Pierz” by Stefan Kisielewski — a piece based on a short story by Edgar Allan Poe. Kisielewski's music captivates with wit, theatricality and an excellent sense of dramaturgy. With his characteristic lightness, the composer combines elements of neoclassicism with brilliant irony, creating a work full of energy, contrasts and expressive characters.
The soloist of the evening will be Beata Bilińska — an outstanding Polish pianist, chamber musician and pedagogue, professor at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. For many years he has been conducting intensive concert activity in Poland and abroad, collaborating with leading Polish orchestras and conductors. Appreciated for the maturity of interpretation, musicality and impressive technique, a special place in her repertoire is occupied by romantic music and the work of Polish composers.
It will be accompanied by the FZ Symphony Orchestra, which together with Agnieszka Środowska will create an artistic ensemble leading the audience through a diverse repertoire — from a romantic masterpiece, through the premiere of a contemporary composition, to the temperamental music of Stefan Kisielewski. Agnieszka Środowska belongs to the group of active Polish conductors, collaborating with numerous symphony orchestras and implementing projects covering both classical and contemporary repertoire.
