A new cycle in which we move beyond Europe — to Asia, South America, Africa and Australia. We will get to know places, people and stories, look at politics and culture, listen to music and reach for literature, and above all listen to the voice of Others.
Tales from an Alien's perspective will lift you out of the hell of urgent matters and open up new spaces. The world is not just us. The world is them too.
First of all, Chile.
On Sunday, October 11, at 7 p.m., we invite you to Chilean Tales — a guide to a country full of contradictions, torn between stunning nature and brutal history. Where the seashore is not a public good, but a corporate property. Where the voices of the victims of the dictatorship are still heard, poetry has the power to transform, and songs take people to the streets.
The special guest will be ARTUR DOMOSŁAWSKI — an outstanding reporter, author of “Latin American Fever”, an uncompromising enthusiast.
Marta Eloy Cichocka, Bartosz Szydłowski, Tomasz Pindel will talk about Chile's experience with Arthur. We will hear the music of the region, we will feel the energy of the words of Gabriela Mistral, Pablo Neruda, Raúl Zura, Roberto Bolaño and Nona Fernández. And we will complete the sensual journey with the legendary ceviche and the disturbing pisco sour.
We establish a latino republic in Nowa Huta. Build El Dorado with us!
