About the event

Guided tours will be an opportunity to look at Björk's audiovisual works and works from the Art Collection of Galeria Bielska BWA

On 18 and 24 October there will be guided tours of two exhibitions: “Björk: Ancestors, Sad Earth & The Rise of Sensitivity (remix)” and “Everything is someone's interior” from the Art Collection of the Bielska Gallery BWA.

The tour will include three locations: a tenement house at 14/16 Norberta Barlickiego Street, Spolom Shopping House at 3 Maja 4 and Villa Sixta at 24 Adam Mickiewicz Street. In Villa Sixta participants will see the installation “Nerve Bloom” (Nerve Bloom) by Björk and Natalia Kleszczewska, as well as the exhibition “Everything is someone's interior”, presented in the basement of the building.

The exhibition “Björk: Ancestors, Sad Earth & The Bloom of Sensitivity (remix)” consists of three audiovisual installations addressing themes of memory, community, nature and transformation. “Ancestress” is a reflection on loss, memory and the rite of passage. “Sorrowful Soil” explores the relationship between the individual voice and the experience of community. “Nerve Bloom” is Björk's premiere production prepared in collaboration with Polish artist Natalia Kleszczewska. It combines music, painting and moving image, taking up the theme of transformation and transcending imagination.

The exhibition “Everything is someone's interior” from the Art Collection of Galeria Bielska BWA develops the themes present in the installation “The Rise of Sensitivity (Remix)”. It looks at the interpenetration of the internal and external, the relationships between the body and the environment, and the circulation and transformation of images in visual culture.
