Curatorial tour of the exhibition “Game with fate. History of Rotman Kaderos”

The Museum of History of Kielce invites you to a curatorial tour of the newly opened exhibition “Game with fate. History of the Rotman Kaderos”, dedicated to the fate of the Kielce family against the background of the turbulent history of Poland in the 20th century.

During the meeting, the participants will learn about the history of the Rotman Kadera family, with a special focus on the figure of Henryk Rotman Kadera — a legionary, independence activist and amateur photographer, who for several decades documented the life of Kielce and the beauty of Kielce.

The starting point for the story will be family memorabilia donated to the museum in 2023, among which there are photographs, documents, decorations, weapons and everyday objects. A special place will be occupied by unique photographs from almost a hundred years ago, depicting landscapes, monuments and everyday life of the inhabitants of the region.

The tour will be an opportunity to learn about the history of the family, whose fate intertwined with the most important events of the 20th century — from the struggles for independence, through the Second World War and the Holocaust, to the period of the Polish People's Republic.
