visiting the exhibition [Sculpture on a Meblościanka] (https://krolikarnia.mnw.art.pl/wystawy/rzezba-na-mebloscianke,203.html) accompanied by its curator, Kai Muszyńska
Ceramic penguins, monkeys, strongmen and sex bombs adorned furniture walls in Polish apartments for almost the entire period of the Polish People's Republic. These unique porcelain “chamber sculptures” made a splash abroad and still delight design lovers to this day.
Their designs were developed in the mid-1950s at the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw by a team of designers, which included: Henryk Jędrasiak, Mieczysław Naruszewicz, Hanna Orthwein and Lubomir Tomaszewski.
The exhibition will be guided by exhibition curator Kaja Muszyńska.
