We invite you to a curatorial tour of the exhibition “All paintings will disappear”, which will be led by Piotr Lisowski.
The starting point of the exhibition is the 1988 performance “Earth and Blood” by Jerzy Truszkowski and Jacek Rydecki. Personal history and memory become in it a story about the broader mechanisms of ideology, violence and power. It is the relationship between individual experience and collective history that marks one of the most important themes of the exhibition.
During the tour, we will take a closer look at the concepts of earth and blood — not only as material or biological categories, but also as carriers of memory, identity, belonging and exclusion. We will consider how history is recorded in individual biographies and bodies, and how the experiences of individuals intertwine with social and political transformations.
Together we will look at the presented works and try to answer the question of what can happen when earth and blood cease to be determinants of division and become a space for meeting different experiences and sensibilities.
