Eurydice dies under tragic circumstances. Orpheus is left alone. What's next? We go through grief in different ways. One leads first through savannas, then through mountainous landscapes and seas; another begins at the Arctic Circle, passes through several time and climatic zones. There are people who start to dress in black. There are those who don't cry, even though they feel they should. In the modern world, mourning has been removed from the public sphere. The rituals that, in archaic societies, were supposed to connect the individual with the collective, and the interrupted life with the life that continues, have been extinguished or have been undermined. The culture of oblivion, which treats mourning as an anomaly or an obstacle on the way to happiness and success, does not teach us to lose, preventing a mature response to traumatic collective experiences such as pandemics, natural disasters or war conflicts. In “Orpheus” we invoke an ancient myth to ask the question of ways of experiencing loss, about forgotten or new rituals and their potential to bring a person out of loneliness. Grief interests us both in an intimate and political dimension: by challenging the omnipresent imperative of continuous productivity, it has an anti-systemic potential, and talking about mourning offers an opportunity to strengthen social relations and experience pain in solidarity. When Orpheus turns away from Hades, he loses Eurydice forever. This gesture — most often interpreted as a moment of weakness — becomes a recurring refrain in the performance, around which the theatrical reality of “Orpheus” and the grieving Orpheus is built.

The show deals with the theme of death and mourning.Strobe lights and smoke are used in the performance, there are stimulants (cigarettes, alcohol) and profanity.
