The Il Caravaggio ensemble, founded by harpsichordist and conductor Camille Delaforge, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. With its fresh, colorful interpretations, it has earned itself a leading place in the early music scene. His program Witch presents highly dramatic Baroque cantatas: Henry Purcell's cantata In Guilty Night, in which King Saul meets the Witch of Endor, Giovanni Battista Ferrandini's moving lament Il pianto di Maria and Marc-Antoine Charpentier's haunting Le Reniement de Saint-Pierre. Purcell's hymnal praise of music concludes the concert.
