The Bytow Cultural Center invites you to the final event of the project “Everyday as history — 680 years of life of Bytow residents”, implemented as part of the program “Patriotism of Tomorrow”.

About the event

The Bytow Cultural Center invites you to the final event of the project “Everyday as history — 680 years of life of Bytow residents”, implemented as part of the program “Patriotism of Tomorrow”.

In recent months, we have been exploring the history of our city together — during workshops, historical walks and a popular science meeting. We looked into the everyday life of the former residents of Bytov, got to know their work, customs, cuisine, culture and places where their lives took place.

Now we invite you to a unique artistic summary of the project.

THE CITY AND ITS SOUNDS

The final will be performed by the Klezmer Orchestra of the Sejneński Theatre — an ensemble associated with the multicultural heritage of the Sejne and Central and Eastern Europe. The orchestra was founded in 1996 while working on the staging of “Dybuka” and since then successive generations of young musicians have developed the tradition of klezmer music in Sejny.

Their music will meet this evening with the history of our city and archival photographs of the former Bytov.

Before the concert, we will also hear a short historical commentary dedicated to Bytov's multiculturalism.

The evening will be complemented by a culinary accent.
