Orchestra of New Music/Bywalec/Craft music

Quite rarely do we think of art today, including sound, in terms of craftsmanship. Meanwhile, the most outstanding compositions of contemporary music and their masterful performances would not have been created without decades of knowledge, unique individual experience and memory, not only abstract, but also muscular, trained to the limit. It is not surprising that Krzysztof Wołek dedicated his new work Bonds and Unions to authentic craftsmen, who practice daily “mesmerizing acts of virtuosity and efficiency” and the ethos of community of work. In turn, Paweł Hendrich decided to translate into the language of sounds the phenomenon of true musical manufactory, which the Orchestra of New Music has remained for the last thirty years. So we will hear portraits of individual members of the ensemble, followed by a picture of the whole team. And for the finale of the concert — a classic of new music and a masterpiece of spectral sound jewelry: — Tristan Murail's Déstions.
