About the event

We invite you to the second opening day of the exhibition “Suzanne Treister: Prophetic Dreaming”. On October 10, 2026 at 13:00 there will be a curated tour in English with the participation of the artist and curators Jessie Robertson (Modern Art Oxford) and Gabriela Sitek (Museum of Art in Lodz).

This is a unique opportunity to look at the exhibition from the perspective of the artist herself and those responsible for her curatorial concept. During the tour, Suzanne Treister, Jessie Robertson and Gabriela Sitek will present the most important works presented at the exhibition, tell about the process of its creation and the key themes of the artist's work. Prophetic Dreaming is the first retrospective in Poland of Suzanne Treister - a pioneer of digital art, internet and new media. The exhibition covers more than four decades of its interdisciplinary activity, combining, among others, the art of the Internet, interactive technologies, painting, video, photography and drawing.

Treister's focus is on the relationships between technology, society, power, science, global surveillance networks, and alternative belief systems. The artist analyzes the present to imagine possible scenarios of the future — from the development of technology and artificial intelligence to the climate crisis and the search for new forms of community.

The tour will be an opportunity to take a closer look at both the artist's early works, such as Video Game Painting (1989-1991) and Software (1993-1994), as well as her latest realizations, including the HEXEN 5.0 tarot deck (2023-2025).

The programme of events accompanying the exhibition is co-funded by the British Council.

Co-financed from the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the task “Images of the future. Avant-garde, artificial intelligence and new technologies of the imagination”.
