MOCAK and the Music Cooperative invite you to a series of workshops for youth, adults and seniors, which aims to acquaint participants with the most important trends in music of the 20th and 21st centuries in relation to painting, sculpture, video art and performance.
The workshops on 17 October and 14 November will make it possible to rediscover the spaces of the MOCAK Collection, which has grown into the culture of Krakow for good, has become something obvious, like the whole museum. Even the Kunst macht frei of Grzegorz Klaman does not shock, it has lost the power to outrage and evoke emotions in their most violent dimension.
Together with the musicians of the Contemporary Ensemble Music Cooperative, we will look at the exhibition differently, we will reflect on the links of the presented works with the art of sound and music. We will check how the exhibition space sounds, whether it creates music in itself, whether it can be filled with music or inspire the creation of music — after all, more than once these spaces have hosted concerts: from old music to the latest. We will test which objects can constitute scores or scripts of musical works, and which are only spatial-visual artifacts not conducive to sound activity.
