OZ. The Tale of Many
First there is a group. Laughter, a common language, a sense of being on the right side. Then someone pushes the line. Someone's not responding. Someone is looking away. Some say it was just a joke.
“OZ. The story of the many” begins where belonging ceases to be secure. Where concern can become control, silence becomes consent, and responsibility cannot be attributed to one person. There are no innocent bystanders and no guilty one. There are people who want to belong. And the decisions they make when being in a group starts to come at a price.
The show is not an adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz.” He takes several figures from it and moves them into the present day. Instead of the yellow road, there is a yellow metro line — the border. You can stop in front of her. It can be crossed. It is not always possible to return to the same page. Reason, heart and courage are not something that the heroes are supposed to acquire here. They are not a reward or an answer. They prove themselves only in action: when it is necessary to decide whether to react or to remain silent; to stay or to leave; to protect oneself or to see another person.
“OZ. A Tale of Many” is a tale of violence that does not have to begin with a blow. The price of belonging. And about the moment when the phrase “it's not my business” ceases to be enough.
