A gem of world comedy in a truly grotesque style. Possessed Agafia Tikhonovna is not a typical lover full of romantic elation, she simply wants to get married in order to raise her social status. This mercantile view of marriage is also close to numerous competitors to her hand (gallery of perfectly portrayed male types: buffoons, liars, losers and safanduls!).
The intrigues of the matchmakers, the rivalry between competitors, the anxieties of the main character and the unexpected finale - the staging of Nikolai Gogol's WEDDING always gave room for the most outstanding to show off. Ćwiklińska, Kwiatkowska and Seniuk were cast in female roles, while male roles included Brusikiewicz, Gołas, Michnikowski, Kobuszewski, Pokora and Janusz Gajos. It was the latter (Koczkariew in a staging at Warsaw's Teatr Powszechny in 1995) who directed this unusual comedy of manners for Och-Teatr, inviting an excellent acting team to cooperate.
The license for the performance of the work was issued by the Association of Authors ZAiKS.
In the case of performances played at 12.00, the performance takes place without interruption and lasts 1 hour 50 minutes.
