A perverse and meditative tale of Palestinians harvesting wild edible plants — 'akkoub and za'atar, whose harvesting is regulated by Israeli laws prohibiting harvesting, aimed at the ancient bond of the Palestinian people with their land. Legal restrictions prohibit the collection of wild 'akkoub — an artichoke-like plant — and za'atar (thyme), and breaking them has led to fines, fines and trials of hundreds of people caught harvesting these native plants. For Palestinians, these laws provide an ecological veil for regulations that further distance them from their own land, while representatives of the Israeli authorities cite their scientific knowledge and duty to protect nature. Following plants — from wildlife to cuisine, from chases between gatherers and conservation patrols to defense in court — “Foragers” shows the love, joy and knowledge of these traditions passed down from generation to generation

About the event

FORAGERS, directed by Juman Mann (2022, Palestine, 65 min.)

Following plants — from wildlife to cuisine, from chases between foragers and conservation patrols to defense in court — “Foragers” shows the love, joy and knowledge of these traditions passed down from generation to generation, as well as the resistance of Palestinians to Israeli attempts to outlaw them — yet another form of persecution.

WOMEN OF GAZA: FIDAA

The film is part of the Gazawyat series — a series of short documentaries produced by Filmlab Palestine.

WOMEN OF GAZA: HADEEL

directed by Aisha Adli (2026, Palestine, 6 min.)

Polish Premiere

In displacement camps in central and southern Gaza, women spontaneously gather to share the experience of how genocide takes away their humanity and privacy, forcing them to restore their old rituals in order to regain their sense of body and dignity in the conditions of living in open tents.

The film is part of the Gazawyat series — a series of short documentaries produced by Filmlab Palestine.

WOMEN OF GAZA: MAHA

directed by Moayed Abu Ammouneh (2026, Palestine, 4 min.)

Polish Premiere

The story of Maha Abu Ammouneh, a displaced mother who, in the midst of genocide, becomes a mother, teacher, doctor and shelter for her children at the same time. Through imagination and play, in the midst of ruins and out of nowhere, he creates a substitute for life for them, protecting them from fear and building a safer world.

The film is part of the Gazawyat series — a series of short documentaries produced by Filmlab Palestine.

by Shorouq Al-Aila (2026, Palestine, 7 min.)
