Mateusz Nowak, an actor endowed with extraordinary energy and charisma, alone builds the whole of Soplicowo — with its heroes, emotions, conflicts and humor. With incredible precision, he operates with word, gesture and stage movement, seamlessly embodying many characters. Each of them is expressive, “as if alive”, and the viewer has a sense of real participation in the story being told. The audience emphasizes masterful diction, excellent voice work, impressive memory and acting technique, which makes the hour in the theater pass in a flash.

About the event

The audience emphasizes masterful diction, excellent voice work, impressive memory and acting technique, which makes the hour in the theater pass in a flash.

There is no lack in Nowak's monodrama of undisguised admiration for the beauty of nature and the beauty of language, which is brought out by the whole story, which is an expression of an extraordinary rapprochement with the spiritual message of Adam Mickiewicz's work. German critic Dieter Topp, after watching Nowak's performance at Krakow Fest 2026, the International Monodrama Festival, described the actor as the king of Polish monodrama, likening his position in the Polish theater of one actor to that of the king of British monodrama, Pip Utton. Nowak, reaching for the masterpiece, did not kneel in front of him, but winged. Tomasz Miłkowski, AICT Poland

The play, based on the epic by Adam Mickiewicz and directed by Stanisław Miedziewski, takes the viewer into the world of heroes who become people of blood and blood, full of mistakes, passions and emotions. Mateusz Nowak, known for his intense and award-winning monodrama performances in Poland and abroad, brings to life in his performance the characters of Tadeusz, Zosa, Telimena, Jankiel and Wojski, creating a dynamic, tense story about love, sacrifice and the struggle for one's own values.
