On November 19 at 20:30 we invite you to a special screening of Robert Wieni's “Doctor Caligari's Cabinet” from 1920, one of the first horror films in the history of cinema, with live music.
The show will take place as in the days of silent cinema the audience watched movies: with music performed in the hall. The music for the picture will be played live by Olga Mysłowska, the boards will be read by a voiceover, and the screening will be completed by a light setting and stage smoke. The screening will be preceded by an author's film introduction.
“The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari” tells about a mysterious doctor who, at a market in a small town, shows the sleepwalker Cesari to the audience. Soon a series of crimes occurs in the area. The film was shot in painted decorations, among the crooked streets and shadows painted with paint. To this day, it remains one of the most important works of German expressionism.
This is the only such show. We cordially invite you.
