Papa's Got a Brand New Bag

Funky blowers and groovy rhythms pay tribute to soul's godfather in Ideal Bar

Based on James Brown's legendary back catalogue, Papa's Got a Brand New Bag put their own stamp on the groovy universe of soul and funk with a touch of dancehall.

Pamper your ear canals with tones from “I Got You (I Feel Good),” “It's a Man's Man's Man's World” and, of course, “Papa's Got a Brand New Bag.” It's music that makes you lace up your dancing shoes and reminds us that some rhythms are simply impossible to stand still to.

Down in the bag hides a nine-man band with guitar, drums, keys and three funky fans: trombone, saxophone and trumpet. In front stands the Jamaican Rudee Richards, flanked by rapper Al Agami, who gives the music a little dispute with his charismatic attitude.

The band brings together experienced musicians from, among others, Natasja & Ragga Pack, Anden med band, Duck Soup, Napoleon Solo, Fastpoholmen, Blast, Bikstok, Lucy Love and The Sandmen. Together, they make up a sublime collection of party originals that guarantee an evening of plenty of energy.

The party continues with Pharfar

Once the final notes from Papa's Got a Brand New Bag have sounded, Pharfar takes over from behind the DJ desk and keeps the dance floor glowing.

It all culminates on December 18 at Ideal Bar with solid interplay, a dynamic stage show and a party that continues well into the evening.
