The series “Porcelain and Music” at KGM combines ceramic and musical creations. In the midst of originals made of porcelain and faience, music is heard that references the works of art on display in various ways.
This year's motto “Shepherd's Hour” draws the eye and ear to pastoral ideal worlds of the 18th century. The aristocracy's longing for an informal life in harmony with nature is reflected both in the porcelain figurines and in the music, the sung lyrics and the choice of musical instruments.
On 24.10.2026, the ensemble “Société Lunaire” (Shira Patchornik, soprano and Maximilian Ehrhardt, harp) presents a multi-faceted program of works by French and German composers — salon music at its best, composed for the very clientele who could also afford porcelain and faience. Between virtuoso lightness and sensitive melancholy, a musical language unfolds that musically imagines idealized Arcadia.
