How are patterns made on fabric? What is the path from the idea in the designer's head to the finished product? During the workshops on 21 October at 17:00 at the Museum of the City of Gdynia, you will learn to recognize types of fabrics based on their weaves, fibers or use. You will learn how natural fibers differ from artificial and synthetic fibers, as well as learn basic weaves such as canvas and satin. The knowledge gained will also help in the conscious choice of fabrics for every day.
In the second, practical part of the workshop you will learn a little more about the design of jacquard fabrics — unusual textiles that allow you to create complex, three-dimensional patterns. The culmination of the workshop will be the production, with the help of scraps of material, of your own report — that is, a motif designed to be repeated many times on the surface of the fabric.
Total Roof Exhibition. Kazimierz Ostrowski's art was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund — a state special purpose fund.
