From Latin rhythms, samba and tango to exuberant gypsy-jazz — the festival evening in the German Mediatek will be a meeting of diverse musical worlds.
Spanish, Latin American, film, classical and jazz music — this will be the first part of the concert in the German Mediatek. Krzysztof Pełech & Horna Duo will take us into the world of these sounds. They are a duo of classical guitars specializing in original arrangements in the style of samba, tango, Latin-Spanish and jazz, improvised atmospheres. It is a wealth of beautiful melodies, harmony and rhythm. The band's program includes well-known compositions by Ralph Towner, Keith Jarrett, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Astor Piazzolla, among others. Sambalanco's debut album was nominated for the Wrocław Music Award. The album includes compositions by such artists as: Ulysses Roch, Cels Machado, Pat Metheny, Ralph Towner, Astor Piazzolla and others. The album is a combination of original arrangements in the style of samba, bossa-nouveau, tango and improvised smooth-jazz atmospheres.
The festival stage of the Mediateka in the second part of the concert will be filled by the Joscho Stephan Trio, which today belongs to the most interesting formations on the acoustic guitar scene. The trio consists of: Joscho Stephan — one of the most prominent contemporary gypsy-jazz guitarists, Volker Kamp on double bass and Sven Jungbeck on rhythm guitar. Artists delight not only with performance perfection, but also with stage charisma and extraordinary communication with the audience. The Paris — Berlin concert will be a unique evening filled with the energy of gypsy swing, jazz virtuosity and the atmosphere of the musical salons of the 1930s. Inspired by the legendary sound of Hot Club de France Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, the band creates its own modern musical language, combining swing tradition with improvisation, humor and extraordinary stage freedom. The programme takes listeners through two musical worlds — the elegant, nostalgic Paris of the gypsy-jazz era and the cabaret charm of Berlin. In addition to Joscho Stephan's original compositions, such as Train to Paris, Valse de la Mer or the final Wes Berlin, swing classics and jazz standards reinterpreted with extraordinary lightness and virtuosity will also sound. This is a concert for lovers of jazz, guitar and music full of elegance, rhythm and spontaneous improvisation — an evening that will take the audience into the world of Parisian swing clubs and Berlin cabaret scenes.
