Perspective of the psychology of place. Guided tour of the exhibition “Now everything will be different”

We invite you to an expert tour of Prof. Agnieszka Trąbka.

Karolina Breguła's works will be an excuse for us to reflect on the psychological significance of the house or more broadly “your place”, especially in the context of the rapid changes that they undergo as a result of gentrification, the construction of new investments or climatic phenomena.

Although the artist takes us to distant Taiwan, the issues she raises are very universal — what makes us call a place home and consider it good? How do we deal with its change or even loss? What is the importance of time in this process?

By following the fate of the heroines and heroes of the exhibition and looking at selected examples of research from other regions of the world, we will try to answer these and other similar questions. The curator of the exhibition — Aleksandra Sikora, will be responsible for the curatorial entrance.

Agnieszka Trąbka — psychologist, sociologist, professor at the Institute of Applied Psychology of the Jagiellonian University, and recently also a guide in Krakow. He conducts research in the area of migration studies and the psychology of the place. Her research interests include, in particular, issues of migrants' identity, sense of belonging and attachment to inhabited places, as well as broadly understood health and well-being.
