Peter and the Wolf

Peter, Duck, Grandfather, Bird, Cat, Wolf and the Hunters: They are all important for this story with their special characteristics. With his courage and compassion for all living things, the boy Peter manages to avert the dangers posed by wolves — without killing him.

In this project, the Komische Oper Berlin is working with children from welcome classes at Berlin elementary schools. For half of the school year, we will creatively study the concert piece Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev. Newly arrived children in Germany also learn the German language imaginatively through music and theatre. The highlight of the project is the bilingual performance of Peter and the Wolf. A moving concert experience to which the children of the welcome classes are invited together with their parents and the entire school.
