Adrianna Gajdziszewska-Tokarz will talk about Pablo Picasso — an artist who escaped the rules, provoked and redefined the language of art.

Who was Picasso really and where did his status as an artistic genius come from? A lecture on the incessant revolution, the theft of inspiration, turbulent relationships and how a legend is built that still influences the way we think about art today.

Meet the host:

Adrianna Gajdziszewska — Turner - art historian and artist dealing with sculpture, installation and ceramics. He works and lives in Krakow. PhD student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. Participant of many exhibitions, competitions and artistic residencies in Poland and abroad. In parallel, he conducts extensive educational and popularizing activities. She is the founder of the educational platform Twarda Sztuka (Twardasztuka_com), within which she conducts author courses, lectures and workshops in the field of art history and contemporary art. For this activity she was awarded by the City of Kraków as Animator of the Year 2025.

About the cycle:

This time we will take a closer look at the biographies and works of selected artists. We will try to look at their works through the prism of life, personality, experiences and times in which they created. We will talk about their inspirations, artistic choices, ambitions and controversies, as well as works that have permanently entered the history of art. We will be interested not only in the work itself, but also in the stories behind its creation and the impact that individuals have had on culture.
