Beauty and the Beast

MUSICAL FOR CHILDREN

Among the countless stories that weave like silver threads in the realm of fairy tales, one shines with a special brilliance. This is the story of a curse that turned a proud and self-absorbed prince into a fearsome wild animal. It is also the story of a beautiful girl trapped in his dark hair — a girl who does not yet know that it is her heart that hides the power to break the spell and restore the monster to its human form.

This ancient history, shrouded in a delicate fog of witchcraft, is known to almost everyone today. It's a tale of Beauty and the Beast. And as the old saying goes: “If you do not know, listen...”, because although the story is known, we still want to hear and tell it anew — differently, in our own way.

Just as the wandering Bajars used to shoot it by the bonfires, so today every contemporary creator — writer, composer or director — adds his own note, his own shadow and brilliance to it, creating another installment of this extraordinary story.

We invite you to the Theatre for this newly told fairy tale about Beauty and the Beast, adapted by Andrzej Ozga, with music by Marek Zalewski.
