Is it better to have a full bowl and a warm angle, but not be able to run freely, or can he live on his own terms, even if it sometimes means difficulties? This question becomes the beginning of a story about freedom that helps the little ones understand what independence is.

Activities combining puppet theatre with interactive workshops invite children to explore meanings together. The inspiration for the meeting is “The Dog and the Wolf” — a fairy tale by Jean de La Fontaine, popularized in Polish literature by Adam Mickiewicz. Her characters represent two different ways of life and two different attitudes towards freedom. Their meeting becomes the starting point for a conversation about independence, choices and the price of freedom, as well as what independence is and why it matters to us all.

The play takes place in the convention of “theater in a suitcase”. Dolls created by the theater set designer come to life in the hands of the actor, inviting children to a close encounter with the theater. However, small spectators do not remain only observers — they participate in the course of the show, react to the adventures of the protagonists, share insights and take actions proposed by the educator. Through fun and creative activities, the story of the dog and the wolf becomes an accessible introduction to the conversation about the values that build our community.

• We will meet at the main entrance of the Museum, and the workshop will take place in the “Łódź” hall (main building, level -3).

• Families with children around 6-9 years old are welcome.

• The number of places is limited.

• Duration: approx. 60 minutes.

The workshop will be conducted by actress Magdalena Daniel and educator Beata Ksiąko — collaborator of the Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejowek.
