The cellar evenings leave the listeners with the feeling that they have touched something unique — history and poetry given in a unique, Krakow style. The jubilee concert on the occasion of the 70th anniversary is a meeting with a legend who still lives on stage.
Piwnica pod Baranami has been one of the most important artistic phenomena of post-war Poland since 1956. Founded by Piotr Skrzynecki in the “Pod Baranami” Palace, it quickly became a place attracting people of culture and the public thirsting for freedom of imagination.
For years, great names were associated with the basement scene — from Ewa Demarczyk and Anna Szalapak, through Grzegorz Turnau, to poets and artists who gave this place the rank of legend. Today, successive generations of artists maintain the spirit of the Cellar, proving that this tradition is not a memory, but a living experience.
