Fantastical plasma <3

Plasmática Fantástia <3 combines a reading and a sound essay. The text “The Plasmatic Ensemble” was written by the artist in 2022 and published as part of In the Spaces Between (dpr-barcelona, 2025), a publication published by Mónica Bello and dedicated to the Arts at CERN art and cultural program. L'Huillier's contribution interweaves reflections and research with conversations she has had with cosmologists and theoretical physicists at CERN in Switzerland and at the ALMA and Paranal astronomical observatories in the Chilean Atacama Desert. The text begins with the quantum fluctuations that spread in the early universe and, against this background, deals with primordial sound waves, original sounds and the vibrating forms of being and thinking.

The reading is accompanied by “Plasmática Fantástica”, a sound essay that includes sounds from different contexts: cosmic events and electromagnetic activity within the earth; a collective flute procession with the band La Chimuchina and friends; a secretive conversation about dark constellations, Andean cosmologies and rituals and other secrets of the desert that remain hidden by the filter of the Vilama River; as well as textures and pulsations that tune body and mind to a timeless state of fluid intuition.
