Plattenbau and Psychoformalina/Concert

A dark journey from trance post-punk and cold wave to a hypnotic fusion of noise rock, krautrock and club electronics.

Two bands and two different perspectives on the darkness of modernity — from raw, trance post-punk to the hypnotic fusion of noise, krautrock and club electronics.

The evening will be opened by PSYCHOFORMALINA — a Wrocław representative of the cold wave and post-punk scene operating since the 90s. Their music combines the coolness of the cold wave with the harshness of garage rock, elements of noise and neopsychodelia. Over the years, the band has developed a distinctive, dense sound: trance rhythms, dirty guitars and metropolitan poetry immersed in darkness. The discography of the group closes with the album “Chimera” released in 2023 by Bat-Cave Productions - heavy, hypnotic and uncompromising material. Chad and darkness.

They will be followed by PLATTENBAU — a Berlin-based collective balancing between noise rock, new wave, krautrock and techno. They are four individualists, united by their fascination with punk, art cinema and the occult, who transform the anxiety of the contemporary into hypnotic, precisely constructed sound forms. In their tracks, mechanical drums work with pulsating bass, synthesizers and guitars, creating a sound reminiscent of the soundtrack to a forgotten German horror film from the early 1990s. Despite its experimental nature, PLATTENBAU's music is surprisingly catchy — full of powerful choruses and crisp melodies.
