A journey around you — film, recital and meeting with the creators

We invite you to a unique meeting with Ryszard Leoszewski — composer, singer, songwriter, educator, leader of the band Sklep z Ptasimi Piórami and creator of the children's Arfik.

It will be an evening of music, film, memories and stories about the people who have contributed to his extraordinary artistic journey over the years.

The programme will include a documentary film Journey around oneself directed by Małgorzata Frymus, made with photographs and editing by Łukasz Nyks and music by Ryszard Leoszewski — a warm, full of music and good energy portrait of an artist whose songs have accompanied subsequent generations for years. It is a story not only about music, but above all about man, his sensitivity, friendships, meetings and the extraordinary need to share good.

Ryszard Leoszewski has remained one of the important figures of Szczecin's cultural life for years. Co-creator of the band Sklep z Ptasimi Piórami, founded in 1978, and since 1987 also creator and host of Arfik, he is the author of hundreds of songs, theatrical music and numerous artistic projects. His work has appeared on several dozen albums, and the works were performed and co-created with him by artists of different generations. He has performed with, among others, Rick Wakeman and Bobby McFerrin, and his work has been honored with the Artistic Award of the City of Szczecin, the “Pro Arte” award of the Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship and the Medal “Merited to Culture Gloria Artis”.

The evening will also be an opportunity for a musical meeting with Ryszard Leoszewski during a recital, in which songs that are an important part of his artistic journey will sound.

The event will be completed by a meeting with the creators and a conversation about the book “About the Bird Feather Shop. Briefly... it is impossible” — a personal attempt to organize almost half a century of memories, concerts, festivals, recordings and meetings with extraordinary people. This is a story about the legendary Szczecin band, its musicians, poets, writers, journalists, actors and all those who have shaped its history over the years.

We strongly encourage you to attend this meeting.

Admission is free.
