Basics of scenography | workshops

During the workshop we will look at how the scenography is created and how it affects the reception of a performance, film or event. We'll start with the basics: what a stage space is, how color, texture, light, scale, and the setting of individual elements work.

We will explore how the scenography can build mood, show the scene of the action and hint at who the protagonists are. We will also talk about how to go from the first idea to a sketch, and then to the choice of objects, fabrics, forms and props.

There will be no shortage of practical work. Workshop participants will be able to create their own set design concepts, juxtapose materials, search for colors, and see how ordinary objects change meaning when they get to the right place.
