This will be the evening of the meeting of two young, uncompromising voices of European jazz — from Poland and Hungary. Two bands, two different musical languages, one common denominator: courage in the search for your own sound.
BluBry is one of the loudest debuts of recent years on the Polish jazz scene. The quintet, which has been operating since 2021, is building its position with impressive consistency, which is confirmed by victories at the most important competitions — Jazz Juniors, Jazz nad Odra or Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa — and the title of “New Hope of the Year” in the Jazz Forum Jazz Top 2024 ranking. Their music is an energetic mix of modern jazz with elements of folk, classical music and electronics. The band is not afraid of contrasts — it combines lyricism with rhythmic intensity and an open form of improvisation. The albums “Blubry” (2023) and “Eiber” (2025) show them as a conscious formation, yet still hungry for new inspiration.
The Lukács Márton Trio, on the other hand, represents the young Budapest scene, bringing freshness and compositional precision to it. Created at the Liszt Academy, the trio creates music in which contemporary jazz is permeated with influences of classics, neo-soul and free improvisation. Their sound is based on intense, partner interaction — piano, double bass and drums conduct a constant dialogue, balancing between structure and spontaneity. Their debut album “Still Searching” and the EP “Bookshelf” established their position as one of the most interesting young bands in the region, as confirmed by the awards won during the Müpa Jazz Showcase.
