A film directed by David Fincher that levels the American Dream to the ground and raises questions about who we are at the height of late capitalism. The film is already 30 years old — we will look at it as a work that quickly diagnosed the problem and combine it with the present and what we are entangled in by new technologies and new phenomena in pop culture. We will ask questions about identity, about masculinity and femininity, about whether we are the things we have, about whether it is possible to live ethically and about the need for a sense of community in times of loneliness epidemic. We will analyze the language of memes - because “Fight Club” gained another life precisely because of the culture of the Internet and what these “funny pictures” say seriously about ourselves.

HIGH/LOW CORTISOL

A new, original film series in which we will consciously swing between genres, themes and tension. Films will be selected in the key of high cortisol — action, tension, distrustful and critical attitude towards the world and low cortisol, i.e. bittersweet films, full of humor, tenderness, ordinary-unusual stories and human emotions, at which you can smile, move or just have fun.

Each film tells one and a million stories at the same time. Each of us perceives the world a little differently, reacts differently and has a different palette of associations and thoughts and this is the most interesting and often escapes when we have no one to talk to about what we have just watched. Together we will experience meetings that will tear us out of our own bubble of perception of the world. They will make us learn something about ourselves and awaken critical thinking.

Marta Kożuchowska, the host of the series, invites you to brainstorm and emotions — a film expert and Internet creator, known under the name O_oezu, who for many years has been dealing with widely understood pop culture, film and commenting on reality in her own unique way.

Meetings within the cycle are held once a month.
