About the event

Monodram based on the reporter's book “Pogo”, recognized as one of the most outstanding in this genre in recent years in Poland (it was just included in the final of the prestigious Ryszard Kapuściński award). Its author, Jakub Sieczko, is a doctor, specialist in anesthesiology and intensive care, who worked for six years in the capital's emergency room. And his book hero does not wrap himself in cotton: “I have been lied to about Grochow. Sometimes I think that only old women and drunk middle-aged men live here.” Therefore, the reviewer of “Polityka” probably wrote: “Sieczko is trying very hard to wean the profession of a paramedic from heroism and bring viewers of sensational and touching hospital series to the ground (...). With what effect? Paradoxically, the opposite.”
The performance won the Grand Prix of the second edition of the TEATROPOLIS Festival of Acting Arts and the statuette for the best role in the Open category for Marcin Hycnar. In its justification, the jury indicated that the award is for ambiguous and multicolored acting, presenting a wide range of emotions, for a portrait of the modern world.
The production is directed by Kinga Dębska — a renowned director, screenwriter and writer whose feature films, such as “My daughters of cows”, “Zabawa zabawa” and “Zupa Nic”, won numerous awards and enjoyed great popularity. In addition to working on films, Dębska also occasionally directs theatrical productions.
The music was composed by Radek Luka, creator of the soundtrack for the cult series “Pitbull”. The composer is not only responsible for the musical setting, but also personally performs in the performance, interacting with the main character and creating a live sound illustration of the events on the stage.
Attention! Stroboscopes are used in the performance.
