The Duel is an adaptation of Anthony Shaffer's 1971 play The Detective. The play was screened twice - in 1972, by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, with Laurence Olivier and Michael Cain in the lead roles (showered with Oscars) and in 2006 in an adaptation by Harold Pinter, directed by Kenneth Branagh, with Jude Law and again Michael Cain.
Adapted and directed by Radek Dunaszewski, Duel is a black comedy set in the atmosphere of noir cinema. Anna Niemira's black and white scenography refers to the classic of the American comic by Frank Miller and enhances the atmosphere of omnipresent horror, which reigns in the house of the main character...
The show is a duel between two personalities: Andrew Wyke (Mirosław Neinert) and Milo Tindle (Artur Święs).
Famous writer, author of detective novels, Andrew Wyke, invites actor Milo Tindle to his house. A seemingly friendly meeting turns into a gruesome game that the gentlemen play among themselves. Since this game has no rules, anything is possible. The spectator and the police investigating, fall into a web of traps set by a pair of sophisticated players...
