peace

Poland. A bunker somewhere in the outback. The near future. Weary of the ending civil war, delegations of the Patriots and Democrats come together to negotiate peace terms under the guidance of the neutral Hostess and try to erase the demarcation line dividing our country from the map. Guns and phones deposited, notes laid out, the explosion on the surface stopped for a moment — it's time to start talking!

Peace is a play written especially for the Słowacki Theatre by Szczepan Twardoch, who also co-directed the play together with Robert Talarczyk. It is a story about modern Poland and Poles. About our ambitions, fears, desires and inadequacies. And about the fact that perhaps the thing that most binds us together as a nation is... mutual hatred.
