Henryk Sienkiewicz believed that “marble, even if it is the most expensive in itself, is nothing and that it acquires true value only when it is transformed into a masterpiece by the hand of the sculptor”. Albert Schneeberger, who wrote of Francis Black, recalled that “perfection, the ideal that constantly guides him, allows Black to rise with each stage higher and higher where thought seeks and what his hand realizes.”
During the tour we will tell you not only about the little known sculptor in Poland, Franciszek Black, and his works, but also about the people who inspired him to create. It will be an opportunity to see sculptures from the collections of the National Museum in Poznań and photographs from the collections of the Polish Library in Paris, which are not available on a daily basis.
