“Between Emotion and Tranquility” by Olena Ahafonova

We invite you to the opening of the exhibition entitled “Between Emotion and Tranquility” by Olena Ahafonova, which will be held on October 9, 2026 at 18:00 in PROmediy at Wojska Polskiego 2 avenue in Szczecin. Admission is free.

“Painting accompanied me as a child, but for personal reasons I stopped doing it at the age of 19. I reached for brushes again only after 14 years. I started painting with acrylic paints for relaxation, tranquility and my own pleasure. In 2022, I came to Poland and decided to look for opportunities for further artistic development. Instead of the usual course, I found the Postsecondary School of Fine Arts Top Art, which I graduated in 2024, obtaining the profession of plastic artist in the specialties of painting and gilding techniques. Today I paint primarily for myself and for the soul, using both acrylic and oil paints. Painting helps me stop for a moment, put my emotions in order and find peace in everyday life. Since 2023, at the PUEDZ Foundation, I have been conducting workshops on painting with acrylic paints for people without artistic experience. I want everyone to try their hand at painting their own picture and discover the joy of creating. The exhibition “Between Emotion and Tranquility” is for me a personal story about returning to art, about emotions and how much you can find in yourself by holding a brush in your hand.” Olena Ahafonova
