A previous life is a love story that redefines the rules of on-screen romance with lightness and grace, making Sundance, Berlinale and A24 fans fall in love. It is a thoroughly contemporary film that heals broken hearts, gives love a chance, reconciles the past with the future, teaches us to part without anger and with hope for a new beginning. It does the impossible: it makes you fall in love with each of the three heroes.

About the event

A previous life is a love story that redefines the rules of on-screen romance with lightness and grace, making Sundance, Berlinale and A24 fans fall in love. It is a thoroughly contemporary film that heals broken hearts, gives love a chance, reconciles the past with the future, teaches us to part without anger and with hope for a new beginning. It does the impossible: it makes you fall in love with each of the three heroes.

In-Yun is a Korean belief that people get closer to each other because their souls have known each other in previous lifetimes. Nora (Greta Lee) and Hae Sung (Teo Yoo) grew up together in South Korea. Separated by fate as children, they find each other years later thanks to social media. In the end, a love and migrant odyssey will lead them both to New York. Nora is already married at the time and Hae Sung newly single. “What if?” This question never stops spinning in their heads. And also in the head of Nora's husband (John Magaro), surprised by the sudden visit of a Korean. Past life evokes the spirit of Richard Linklater's trilogy and the best New York film stories. The story unfolded between New York and Seoul, modern technology and the desired touch, memories and the present, is accompanied by echoes of Buddhist reflection on the destiny and spiritual dimension of relationships.

Past Lives is a love story that effortlessly and gracefully redefines the rules of on-screen romance, winning over audiences at Sundance, Berlinale and fans of A24. A thoroughly contemporary film that ends broken hearts, gives love another chance, reconciles the past with the future, and teaches us how to say goodbye without anger, but with hope for a new beginning. And it achieves the seemingly impossible: making you fall in love with all three of its characters.

In-yun is a Korean belief that people are drawn together because their souls have known each other in previous lifetimes. Nora (Greta Lee) and Hae Sung (Teo Yoo) grow up together in South Korea. Separated by fate as children, they find each other again years later through social media. Eventually, their romantic and migratory odyssey brings them both to New York. By then, Nora is married, while Hae Sung is newly single. “What if?” - la question ne vous ne vous défer les sens. Or the mind of Nora's husband (John Magaro), who is taken by surprise by the sudden arrival of the Korean man.
