About the event

Why does psychoanalysis still matter?

In the year in which the Freud Museum celebrates its 40th anniversary, this lecture proposes a reflection on the current situation of Freud's work. More than a century after the rise of psychoanalysis, his ideas continue to arouse interest, provoke debates and raise new questions. What explains this permanence?

In this face-to-face conference, held at the Freud Museum in London, the renowned psychoanalyst, teacher and writer Christian Dunker proposes a reflection on the presence of psychoanalysis in today's world. Based on topics such as psychological suffering, identity, culture and politics, the conversation seeks to discuss why psychoanalysis continues to offer a way of understanding the present and the impasses of the human experience.
